“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1 NLT
Exactly what happened “in the beginning?” Science would have you believe that in the vastness of nothingness, there was something that came from nowhere. That something randomly blew up and then over a course of billions of years that something reassembled into complicated life forms. Science says that life is random, the luck of the draw with no rhyme nor reason. It assembles and defines itself for the sole purpose of the survival of the fittest. I find that sad and disheartening. No wonder so many people struggle with anxiety and depression.
This scientific theory has been peddled to the public as a fact when in truth it is only a theory…it has not been proven. The Big Bang Theory and Theory of Evolution have many contradictions and flaws but they are sold to the public as truth. Scientists have been caught red-handed falsifying and creating ‘proof’ that evolution is true. But the truth of those falsifications are rarely discussed because they take away from the talking points of evolution.
The first conflict that arises with evolution is with the law of entropy. In essence, the Law of Entropy states that everything goes from order to disorder. In recent years, however, chemistry textbooks have shifted from using the terminology 'order to disorder’ and started using the term ‘energy dispersion.’ Why? Because it directly conflicts with the Big Bang Theory.
Stop and think about life: your house, your car, your clothes, etc. It all goes from order to disorder. It is easier to make a mess than it is to clean it up. As soon as the laundry is done, more needs to be done. As soon as the car is clean, it needs to be cleaned again. Nothing in life randomly goes together and becomes better without guided energy being put into it. Nothing.
Another issue with evolution is the lack of ‘transitional creatures.’ Simply put, if man evolved over millions of years from an ape to a human, there would be evidence of those transitional creatures. In fact, there would be more skeletal evidence of transitional creatures than ‘before’ (ape) creatures. These transitional bones/fossils are much fewer and farther in-between than one would reasonably expect. There are thousands of ‘before’ (apes) and millions of ‘now’ (humans), but very few in-between. In fact, the in-between they have found could very well be anomalies, birth defects, etc.
I have loved science since I was a kid. I was young when the original Star Trek series came out and I was hooked. I took all the science I could in school and even graduated from college with a science degree. Life sciences are my very favorite. But science has never made me question God, it has only reaffirmed to me that He does exist. Others are not so lucky. They are taught things as though they are truth without really thinking things through themselves. Still others are like Sheldon on the Big Bang Theory. They are so determined that their knowledge is superior to anyone else’s, even the God who created them, that they will not see the evidence right in front of them for His existence. Man has always struggled with the desire to be like God. After all, that was the first sin in the beginning.
Has science shaped your view of how life began? If it has, how has it affected your faith?
